Welcome to our one-day Waxing training course, a comprehensive and AIT accredited program designed to teach you the core techniques and theoretical foundations of professional body waxing. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refresh your skills, AK Academy provides expert-led instruction to ensure you’re confident and capable of delivering waxing treatments safely and effectively.
This basic waxing course includes both the practical application and removal of warm and hot wax, as well as in-depth theory, covering hair removal for various body areas:

COURSE CONTENT
- Hygiene, Preparing your Work Area, Health & Safety: Understand how to create and maintain a clean, safe environment to protect both clients and practitioners during waxing treatments.
- Professional Ethics, Insurance, GDPR/Data Protection, Client Confidentiality: Learn the importance of ethical practice, proper insurance, and how to protect client data and confidentiality under GDPR regulations.
- Skin Anatomy & Physiology: Gain essential knowledge of the skin’s structure to perform waxing treatments safely and appropriately.
- Hair Anatomy & Physiology: Understand how hair grows and how waxing affects different hair types and cycles.
- Types of Wax and Ingredients: Discover the differences between hot and warm wax, and how to choose the right product for various treatment areas and skin types.
- Treatment Contraindications: Learn how to recognize when waxing should not be performed due to skin conditions, medications, or other contraindications.
- Client Consultation and Candidate Selection: Develop the skills to assess client suitability and perform thorough, professional consultations.
- Patch Testing: Learn how and when to conduct patch tests to ensure client safety and avoid allergic reactions.
- Step-by-Step Application: Follow a guided process for applying and removing wax efficiently on different areas of the body.
- Aftercare: Learn to advise clients on how to care for their skin post-treatment to minimize irritation and extend results.
Entry Requirements: ITEC Level 2 qualifications are required to attend this course.
